McAreavey Construction is owned and managed by Richard McAreavey. I have 30 years' experience in the construction industry over a wide variety of sectors and disciplines.
I grew up around construction as I worked in my fathers joinery shop from a young age, which supplied doors, windows, stairs and bespoke joinery to the building industry.
After graduating from Ulster University Jordanstown with a degree in Civil Engineering and Construction Studies I began working with Farrans Construction in Northern Ireland and England on both civils and building projects.
In 1999 I joined Bowen Construction in Cork. I completed a number of industrial, commercial and civils projects with them. Most notably Mahon shopping Centre, Pepsi production plant Carrigaline, Pfizer production plant Ringaskiddy and the Watergrasshill Bypass.
In 2003 I started working for myself building residential property and providing professional services such as project management and quantity surveying to the construction industry.
I eventually settled in Newmarket, Co. Cork after I married Eileen Browne, a native of Meelin village only up the road. Herself and her family are well known and respected in the local community and it is here I decided to put down roots and raise our family.
